“It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will win but those who can best manage change.”
While working as an employee for 11 years, I realized the potential of this industry and what heights I can achieve as an entrepreneur. Along with my friend Noel Chauhan who joined me as a partner, we decided to use our experience and build something that was ours.
I knew from the beginning that it will never be a cakewalk and learned it the hard way through some of my own decisions that didn’t turn out as I had thought of. But from childhood, I didn’t have too many resources on my hand and that proved a blessing in disguise for me, as I learned to innovate and make the best use of things on my hand.
Leaving hefty pay cheque wasn’t easy for me but my determination to start something of myself was much above that lucrative salary I received in my pocket at the end of every month. But I was lucky enough to have gained momentum in very few months and was able to make a base of my own in this industry.
I never compromised with the quality, as that was one of the main reasons for me to start my own venture. Slowly and steadily I started building my team and with a team of fantastic few, we started on a journey aiming to touch the sky.
While working on making Eminent the best digital marketing company, an opportunity crossed my path and after a thorough deliberation, I decided to capture that opportunity and thus SWAHAM was born. It helped me in a way that not only I shared my knowledge but also gained a lot from a totally different field than what was I involved in till then.
Though initially, it was a challenging job to manage both the ventures simultaneously but with proper planning, delegation of work and time management helped me to maintain a near perfect work-life balance.
My role at Swaham was not just about providing an IT support but more about having perfect User Interface. While many e-commerce portals have an exorbitant return rate, at Swaham it is way less. We made sure that we maximize the functionality to minimize our returns. Our clients beforehand know what they are buying and how it would turn-up.
My motto is simple, be honest and love your work and in turn your work will make your life lovely.
I believe having a work-life balance is something that everyone should try to achieve. Spending time with your family and friends, indulging in sports and other social activities not only allows you to rejuvenate but also helps you to concentrate better and sometimes you get the best ideas when you are not thinking about it.
The badge “Professional” has always excited me the most. So on a personal level, I am also involved with Ismaili Professionals Network (IPN). I joined IPN as a SIG (IT) in-charge, responsible for the upgrade & update of IT professionals in the community, later on, to be promoted as Honorary Secretary and then Chairman.
While being associated with IPN, I learned the importance of networking and how it can help you drive your growth.
While I am away from work, I spend my time browsing the internet for good content. Riding bike has always been my passion but at the same time driving car amidst the Ahmedabad traffic is what I try to escape!
